The Condominium Authority Tribunal (CAT) remains open and available, and Users can continue to file new applications and participate in active cases.
We are aware of the recent order under section 7.1 (2) of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act suspending limitation periods in provincial legislation (including the Condominium Act, 1998) and giving the CAT discretion to suspend the timelines set out in the CAT’s Rules of Practice.
Users in active CAT cases should follow the directions given by the CAT Members assigned to those cases. The CAT is aware that the ongoing COVID-19 situation may impact User availability, so if you have any concerns about meeting the deadlines in your case, please raise them with your Mediator/Member, or contact us at CATinfo@condoauthorityontario.ca.
